Amy Lynette Sandel, 56, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at her home.  Amy was born on February 26, 1959 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, the daughter of Harry Junior Phelps and Sharon Beatrice McBride.

     Amy was a homemaker most of her life and live in the area all of her life.  She worked for many years for MMI as a crew leader.  She enjoyed crocheting, making blankets, sweaters and spending time with her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed NASCAR, football, her pets and watching mysteries on television.

     Survivors include her children:  Richard Brian Sandel and Kristin Lynn Sandel, both of Shepherd.  Also surviving are her father, Harry Phelps of Shepherd and her mother, Sharon and Lyle McBride of Shepherd, five grandchildren:  Jzmine, Samantha, Holly, Cody and Allie.  Three bothers:  Bill and Terry Phelps, Andrew “Bird” and Sharon Phelps, John and Brenda Phelps and a sister Lisa and Steve Burr.  Amy was preceded in death by her aunt, Shirley Bean and her grandmother Aletha Grace.

     Cremation has taken place. Interment of the cremated remains will take place in Chippewa Township Cemetery at a later date.  Also at that time, a memorial service will be held at the cemetery.  Memorial contributions have been suggested to the family.
